Whether we are building cars, helicopters, ferris wheels, bridges, amazing towers, or
cranes, K'NEX sessions are always challenging and great fun!
Set
up
The size of the room will depend on which workshop you would
like us to run really.
The general set up is tables and chairs with 4 or
5 people sitting at each table.
We bring 10 complete boxes of K'NEX so
can support a minimum of 10 separate teams. Ideally 25 people is the maximum per
workshop.
We also bring electric motors (and fresh batteries to avoid
excuses).
If we are running a workshop with static models (
eg.cranes,bridges,ferris wheels) then that's all that is required.
If we
are 'racing cars'...our favourite!...then we need a racing track.
We
usually run the race over a straight-line course of at least 10metres approx. We
have run the races outside also which is an option, weather permitting.
We provide 'passports', which are instructions for each team explaining
the challenge.
We start by getting everyone to build a simple identical
K'NEX model to ensure any new users are familiar before we begin the serious
stuff!
The sessions are about problem solving, engineering and team
work.
We also provide certificates and K'NEX key rings, which the
children (and parents) make themselves to take away...this helps with any
emotional attachment to the models they have made!
Ultimately we provide
everything required except the tables, chairs and space. The workshops are
always well attended and usually over subscribed as K'NEX is popular in homes
and schools....dads love it too!
Cost
1 x 2
hour session would be £225 2 x 2 hour sessions (same day) would be £395 (can
be separate venues) Key rings £1 each (optional) Mileage would be set at
40pence per mile.
All pricing exclusive of VAT at 17.5%
Funding Family Learning are usually happy to fund K'NEX
family events.
Marketing We are able to provide
electronic templates of A4 posters and invitations to help promote the sessions.
